The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), situated in Grenoble, France, is Europe’s leading research facility for fundamental research using neutrons. The ILL operates the brightest neutron source in the world and hosts over 2000 visits by scientists per year, who come to carry out world-class research.
Come and join our Instrumentation and Control group, which forms part of the Electricity and Electronics Service in ILL’s Reactor Division. In compliance with associated regulations, the Instrumentation and Control group carries out modernisation work, maintenance work and performance tests on ILL’s instrumentation, on neutron, radiation protection and thermodynamic measuring instruments and on systems for emergency shutdown and reactor operation.
Your tasks
Reporting to the Head of the Electricity and Electronics Service, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Manage, lead and develop a team of five technicians
- Plan and prepare maintenance work and periodic inspections and testing in collaboration with the operators
- Lead and carry out projects to overhaul obsolete installations and projects to create new installations, as well as performing maintenance operations (from drafting specifications through to qualification procedures and commissioning)
- Prepare maintenance and test procedures
- Monitor subcontractors and report on activities concerning the quality management system
- Draft documentation on the installations for the operators.
